Beschrijving: The Minister of Agriculture, Ferdinand David, and the former deputy for Colmar, the Abbé Wetterlé, leave the town hall with their followers, led by three young girls dressed in the regional costumes of Savoy, Alsace and Lorraine. The Abbé addresses the crowd on the subject of loyalty to France, with some verve. The Abbé is then shown in portrait shot. The ceremony takes place privately in the gardens of the headquarters. General Anthoine, General Velentin and the flying ace Captain Guynemer are each in turn (with timecuts) decorated with the Order of Michel the Brave by General Iliesco, head of the Rumanian military mission to France.M Godard arrives in Salonika harbour by small cutter in order to inspect the medical services. He is unescorted and met by only three or four military representatives. As the party walks down the street it gains a larger entourage. General Sarrail and King Alexander get down from a train and walk along a route lined with Chasseurs Alpins. They are there to look at the damage to Salonika, but not much is in view.Members of the government and armed forces have gathered on the flat grassland, and a wooden cross has been erected. The entire cabinet, led by President Poincaré, appears to be present, along with Marshal Joffre, and Generals Pétain and Foch, and a number of other military representatives. They all approach the shrine, listen to an address being given, and then leave.President Poincaré, in his blue uniform, Minister of War Paul Painlevé, and General Pétain, are taken by General Pershing to meet troops of US 1st Division in training. The President talks and shakes hands with a number of American officers before watching the division march past. French official cameramen can be seen at work.
